Computational Systems Biology (CDL3)
Zu den laufenden Projekten des CDL3 gehört die Modellierung der Strukturen von Proteinen und Proteininteraktionen unter Verwendung verschiedener Datenmodalitäten, z. B. aus hochauflösenden Techniken wie der Röntgenkristallografie und der Einzelpartikel-Elektronenkryomikroskopie, bis hin zu ergänzenden Methoden mit geringer Auflösung wie der Vernetzungsmassenspektrometrie, sowie die Kombination dieser experimentellen Daten mit Vorhersagen aus Deep-Learning-Tools wie AlphaFold.
Die Vorhersage und Modellierung von Proteininteraktionen kann nicht nur bisher unbekannte biologische Pfade aufdecken, sondern auch zur Entdeckung von Arzneimitteln und zu unserem Wissen über den Verlauf menschlicher Krankheiten beitragen.
